Spurs started their season with a disappointing 2-0 away defeat at the hands of Bolton. Davies and Ivan Campo scored two early goals for the home side and the Spurs couldn't recover from the early shock. Ghaly wasn't selected for today's game as he didn't make it to the match squad.

Despite the impressive preseason for Tottenham, the Spurs had a very poor start for the season on Saturday as they fell as victim for Bolton Wanderers who who the game 2-0 and could even score more goals.

Tottenham played the away game with Berbatov and Defoe in attack but both didn't link well with each other. In midfield, Zokora, Jenas and Davids started and the whole midfield underperformed. Ghaly wasn't even on the bench but after this poor show from Tottenham's midfield, the Egyptian will likely be given a chance in the coming games.

Both goals of Bolton came in the first 15 minutes and Spurs couldn't recover from this early shock. The first goal came through a corner kick from the right wing which was delivered into the near post to find Davies who was totally unmarked and got a free header in front of goal, from which he scored to give Bolton a 1-0 lead.

A few minutes later, the ball was cleared poorly by the Spurs defense to fall to the former Real Madrid defender Ivan Campo who fired a low shot from 40 yards which beat Robinson and ended its path into the back of the net.

More on Ghaly and Spurs soon...
