Hossam Ghaly featured in Spurs preseason game versus
Stevenage Borough. The game ended in a 3-0 win for the
Spurs and Ghaly played the entire first half. The Egyptian
did well throughout the 45 minutes he played as he sent
a crashing drive that was parried by the keeper early
on. However, he missed a very close attempt from inside
the six yards box later on.
Ghaly's Tottenham faced Stevenage in another
preseason friendly before their big test versus Inter
Milan. Ghaly's side managed to win by three goals to
nil. The result could have been worse for Stevenage
but their goalkeeper was alert and stopped many attempts.
Ghaly played the game in midfield and
he sent a powerful shot that tested the goalkeeper early
on. However the latter managed to parry Ghaly's thunderous
strike.
A few minutes later, Jermain Defoe managed
to give the Spurs a 1-0 lead. In the 31st minute, Ghaly
had a golden chance to score from inside the six yards
box when the ball fell lose to him. However, the Egyptian
oddly missed the target and the chance went begging.
In the 2nd half, Routledge came on and replaced
Ghaly. In this half, Spurs won a couple of penalty kicks that
were converted by Defoe and Berbatov to make the score 3-0.
