new move.

EP as usual decided to get to the bottom
of the case and so we called the man of the moment to
ask him one simple question!
"Did you sign for Tottenham?"
When EP first called him at 15:00 Cairo local time he
told us that he is now sitting with Spurs officials
and promised to answer all questions in about 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes EP called again and he was the first
to speak into the phone, saying Ouli mabrook!;
"Say congratulations to me!.
After that EP showered him with the following questions:
EP: Can you tell us the contract details?
Ghaly: "I put pen to paper and signed a
four and a half year contract with an option to extend
one more year. I didnt sign a pre-agreement as
some people suggested. I passed my medical and there
was no need to sign a 30 day contract or anything.
"As for the financial side of the deal, the transfer
fee was around £2 million."
EP: Have you spoken to Martin Jol?
Ghaly: "Yes, he was very kind and welcomed
me to the team and wished me a speedy recovery from
my slight muscle injury."
EP: Now that you've joined Mido in London, how are you
going to live with the expected overwhelming interest
in Spurs' news back in Egypt?
Ghaly: "The interest is already big because
of Midos popularity and Spurs' games are now prime
time events on the channels holding the television rights
of the Middle East, but now after my transfer it would
be my personal duty to live up to the expectations and
I will strive to win silverware with Spurs, just to
prove that Egyptian footballers can do wonders for their
clubs if given the chance. The whole country will be
cheering us."

EP: You have always said that you dream of playing in the
English Premier League?
Ghaly: "Yes, it has always been my dream to play
in England for many reasons. First of all I speak the language
very well, and I have always admired the passion of the fans
here, and when my team-mate Robin van Persie moved to Arsenal
two years ago I was very eager to join him in the league that
everybody talks about."
EP: Have you picked your shirt number yet?
Ghaly: (Laughs) "Not that fast! I still have to
go back to Holland to wrap some papers up and might then go
back to Egypt for 38 hours to finalise some formal papers
and work permits before coming here again to be formally presented
to the press and fans."
EP: What is your message to the Spurs fans?
Ghaly: "Since I started talking with the club
I have been simply over the moon. I am already delighted and
honoured to join a club where great players excelled and made
history. I fell in love with the fans just from the way Mido
talks about them and how they pull up the team when they are
down, and how they cheer your name when you are not saving
anything on the pitch. A footballer cant ask for more."
EP: EgyptianPlayers.com really wish you the best of luck
with this new challenge.
Ghaly: "My thanks go to EP, and I will do my best
to make you all proud..."
