Feyenoord never managed to beat Vitesse
in Arnhem since 1995. However, they succeeded to win
today by a single goal which came in the 28th minute
through the defender Andre Bahia. The Brazilian scored
from a corner kick as he headed the ball home after
the corner kick was crossed to him from the left wing.
Egyptian midfielder Hossam Ghaly was rested
as he is still suffering from groin injury which kept
him out of action for more than a month. The Egyptian
was replaced by Pardo who played in midfield instead
of the Egyptian.
With this victory, Feyenoord remained in the 2nd spot in the
table with only one point separating them from the competition
leaders, PSV.
Aside from the match news, Ghaly's teammate
midfielder Ono decided to leave Feyenoord and return to his
homeland Japan as he signed a three years and half deal with
his former Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds. This means that
Ghaly will likely stay at Feyenoord as the club didn't sign
any replacements for the Japanese midfielder.
