EP: EP visitors wish you a happy birthday Hossam.

HG: My deepest thanks go to EP and to my fans for this kind gesture. I am not used to spending my birthdays away from my friends and so your call means a lot to me.

EP: We would like to know the current situation between you and the man at the helm in Feyenoord.

HG: As you all know me and the staff at Feyenoord had a minor problem that the papers talked so much about, causing nothing but harm. Six weeks ago the staff saw that I am showing off during games and that I am taking risks! I responded that this is actually my way of performing and I am not trying to add any sugar to my passing or shooting. It's just my style of play.

I had a nice talk with the gaffer and I should stress that he was very understanding. Since that talk I have started all the games.

My thanks go to the technical staff for giving me the minutes to prove my critics wrong.

Now I can’t be happier with how things are going for me at the club, especially that the team is doing so well in the league and we are pushing PSV to the wire.

EP: What’s so special about Feyenoord this year?

HG: I think the secret is that we finally gelled together as a unit. Mr. Koeman preferred to keep squad changes to a minimum and that actually paid dividends. Consistency is the key to success as we say in Egypt.

EP: What about Kuyt’s brilliant form?

HG: Kuyt is indispensable. He is a wonderful person who happens to be our top scorer.

EP: We all read in the British media that Arsenal’s boss himself came to one of your games to take a closer look at you. How did the news feel to you?

HG: I was flattered and delighted by the interest from Arsenal because Tony Adams was my childhood hero and I have been watching the Gunners' games since I can remember.

EP: So you have no problems moving to the Premiership if the opportunity arises?

HG: Well, by this season’s end I would have completed my 3rd year in Holland and I would be lying if I told you that I am not relishing the prospect of testing myself against a tougher challenge. For that reason I think my next step should be the Premiership.
This is particularly after Mido’s move to Spurs, as he has been consistently praising the Premiership and is saying that the fans and the atmosphere there are simply unique.

EP: Now that the African Nations Cup is at the pyramids' doors, is the national team ready?

HG: We will know for sure after the upcoming friendly international tournament.
