EP: It was mentioned in the media that English Premiership giants, Arsenal, are after you. What is the truth?

HOSSAM GHALY: "I heard about their interest from the Dutch and British media same as you. I also know that Arsene Wenger was in the stadium on a scouting mission for me in the last Eredivisie match."

EP: What about the offer from Tottenham?

HOSSAM GHALY: "There is nothing serious until now from their side."

EP: What about the relationship between you and coach Erwin Koeman?

HOSSAM GHALY: "Thank God, there are no problems between us now."

EP: So, are you planning to stay with Feyenoord?

HOSSAM GHALY: "But to be honest if I get a very good offer then I will leave."

EP: You are always criticised for not playing simple football and for overusing your skills on the field. What is your comment?

HOSSAM GHALY: "I really don't think I am doing anything wrong! It is inevitable that some passes will be intercepted. The best players in the world make mis-passes. It is not possible to play a whole ninety minutes without doing at least two or three mis-passes! I think I am doing my job and there is no mis-pass or blocked ball that I have played that has resulted in a goal against us throughout my entire journey at Feyenoord. I don't see that I play riskily, or that I hold up the ball too long, or that my balls get cut out. But this is the only point that comes out of the game. They talk about the intercepted ball I made but ignore all my positives."

EP: Regarding the upcoming African Nations Cup, how do you see our group?

HOSSAM GHALY: "I see all groups having the same difficulty. There are new teams who made it to the World Cup for the first time and other big names who couldn't qualify. So there is no huge difference between the teams in all the groups.

"The important thing is that we concentrate and stay serious, and do all that we can. The rest is up to God."

EP: Have you spoken to the club administration about the conflicting match-dates between ACN and Eredivisie?

HOSSAM GHALY:
"No, I didn't talk about that but I think they understand the situation. The ACN is an official tournament and FIFA rules allow me to join the national team two weeks before the ACN. There are no problems regarding that (God Willing)."
