Ono (middle) will be out of action till January!

It has been confirmed that Hossam Ghaly's teammate Shinji Ono will need another foot operation. The Japanese midfielder went to his home country to undergo more examinations on his foot after he started to feel pain in his foot recently.

The medical investigations revealed that he has toe complaint that will require another surgery and his rehabilitation period is forecasted to be around six weeks.

This means that the Japanese midfielder will be out of action till the end of this year and so, the Rotterdammers will be in shortage of midfielders.

The available midfielders after Ono's injury are Pardo, Paauwe, Hossam Ghaly and the youngster De Guzman.

Surely, the absence of Hossam Ghaly in future games will not be the best option and Erwin Koeman will likely be forced to get him back to main selection in order to avoid falling into a form crisis especially after the last two successive defeats in UEFA cup and in the Eredivisie.

Despite this, Erwin Koeman will hopefully react in different way than his older brother Ronald Koeman who announced in a press conference (in the famous Mido-Koeman incident) that playing with ten men is better than getting Mido back to the team!

Time will tell how Erwin Koeman will handle the misunderstanding between him and the Egyptian midfielder who is expected to move on in January, but till then, will he get back to the team?

Come to EP next weekend to find out if Ghaly will play against Groningen or not...
