Feyenoord midfielder Hossam Ghaly has confirmed an
offer from Spurs to join them after his recent problems
with Erwin Koeman. However, he has said that he prefers
to wait for Tottenham's arch rivals, Arsenal, to see
whether they will make an offer.

Egyptian press has reported that the
English Premiership will be the next destination of
Hossam Ghaly as the problems between him and his coach
Erwin Koeman have reached a dead end.
It has also been reported that Arsenal are not the only
English side that have showed an interest in the Egyptian,
but Mido's Tottenham, Arsenal's big rivals in North-London,
have also been following the player.
According to Ghaly himself, he is more keen on a move
to Arsenal, but he is still awaiting an official bid
from the Premier League giants. Despite this, a move
to Tottenham is still quite possible.
While Tottenham's midfield is already loaded with quality
players, the addition of Hossam Ghaly could offer more
depth in their midfield and also form a good link between
the defence and attack.
The current central midfielders at Tottenham are Edgar
Davids, Michael Carrick and Jermaine Jenas, and the
Egyptian would probably see a fair share of play, judging
that Jenas has been a disappointment so far, with Davids
and Carrick missing many games due to injury.

So, it appears that Spurs' midfield could have a place for Ghaly
and an official offer from them would not be turned down by
club or player.
On the other hand, papers have been talking about Tottenham's
spending spree since Jol joined, and so the Dutchman may be
reluctant to dish out any more money.
Egypt Problem:
Apart from this, Ghaly declared that Feyenoord asked him not
to join the Egyptian national team who faced Cameroon and this
was confirmed by some Egyptian EFA members who had talks with
Feyenoord's board members in that regard.
Al-Gomhuria also reported that Ghaly refused to stay in Holland
and decided to help his nation in the World Cup 2006 qualifiers,
which was something against the club's desire, who wanted to
keep him in Holland in the squad.
These reasons were somewhat contradicting with the latest events
as Ghaly was forced out of the squad in the last match and an
18 year old midfielder was favoured over him for allegedly tactical
reasons.
