Erwin Koeman plays with 4-3-3 formation. He mainly starts with Ghaly, Pardo and Paauwe in midfield. However, after Ono's recovery from the long term injury that he suffered a few months ago, the Japanese midfielder started in place of Pardo in latest matches.

In the latest match against Utrecht and after the recent problems between Ghaly and his boss Erwin Koeman, the latter preferred to exclude Ghaly from the match squad and gave the chance for the 18 year old midfielder De Guzman to start in the Egyptian's place.

The result was the first loss for Feyenoord in the Dutch Eredivisie this season which made them lose the first spot in the table to AZ who have superior goal difference.

Now, Feyenoord suffer from shortage in midfielders and are also in desperate need to get back to winning ways. This means that Koeman might be forced to get Ghaly back in the team in the coming match.

Despite this, Koeman still has an option to start with Pardo, Paauwe and De Guzman, but the latter proved that he still in need of more time to be ready for Eredivisie football.
