Egyptian star midfielder Hossam Ghaly participated in Feyenoord's tough friendly encounter with the Spanish side Espanyol. The Rotterdammers managed to end the game to their favor as they won 2-1.

Despite the tropical weather of China, Feyenoord and Ghaly managed to play an excellent match and defeated Espanyol (who finished the season in the 5th spot in La Liga table) with two goals to one.

The first half was much better for the Rotterdammers as they managed to take a two goal lead after 19 minutes. Their top scorer Dirk Kuyt scored both goals in the 9th and 19th minutes and the guests had no chance to reply till the 32nd minute where they scored their only goal from a freekick taken by Pochettino.

Hossam Ghaly played alongside Pardo in midfield and both did a very good job in providing Feyenoord's attackers Kuyt and Kalou with balls. Ghaly played more defensively than Pardo and the Egyptian succeeded to keep Espanyol's danger at bay.

The second half was less entertaining than the first but Feyenoord managed to create a couple of chances, but they couldn't hit the target from both attempts. Espanyol, on the other side, almost equalized in the last minute of the game but they squandered their chance.
