Hossam Ghaly's Feyenoord managed to win a point from their tough opponents in the ArenA. Ghaly started the game and did a good job throughout the 85 minutes he played. The Egyptian was taken off five minutes before the final whistle due to a muscular strain.

Good result for Feyenoord

First Half:

3rd min. Gyan (Feyenoord) crossed the ball from the right wing into the area, Kuyt struck it on the volley but it was blocked by a defender and went wide.

4th min. Goor (Feyenoord) got the ball in the left wing, he took the ball past his marker and rifled a shot from the edge of the area at goal but it went over the bar.

6th min. Ghaly got the ball in midfield, he spotted Kuyt in a good position in the box and so he sent a long chip to him but the defense managed to head the ball away.

8th min. Romeo Castelen (Feyenoord) crossed the ball from the right wing into Ajax' area but Trabelsi was there and intercepted the cross.

9th min. Freekick for Ajax. It was played long into the area but Karim Saidi managed to head the ball away.

11th min. Another freekick for Ajax. Van der Vaart sent it long into the area but the defense headed it behind for a corner.

12th min. The corner kick was swung high into the area, Babos came out of his net to block a left footed shot from Ajax' Escude and the danger was cleared.

13th min. Gameplay stopped for few minutes after a collision between Karim Saidi and Van der Vaart. The Ajax star managed to carry on though.

14th min. Pienaar (Ajax) suffered an injury and was replaced by Sneijder.

15th min. One-two in midfield between Ono and Ghaly, the Egyptian got the ball and tried to send a through pass to Kuyt in the area but Ajax' defense read the situation and intercepted the pass.

16th min. Left wing cross from Kalou into the area but it was headed away before Kuyt.

17th min. Dangerous cross from Maxwell (Ajax) into the near post but Karim Saidi made a diving header and cleared the ball for a corner.

18th min. Kalou managed to take the ball past Escude and the latter had no other option but to bring him to the floor. The referee booked Escude after the foul.

22nd min. Dangerous long ball into Feyenoord's area. Van der Vaar couldn't get the ball under control though.

24th min. AJAX ALMOST TOOK THE LEAD! A superb cross from the right wing by Hatem Trabelsi was met by the head of Van der Vaart. However, Feyenoord's keeper Babos made a superb reflex save and parried the ball away.

25th min. Freekick for Feyenoord in the right wing. It was delivered high into the area, Ghaly went for the header but he climbed over his marker and the referee whistled for a freekick for Ajax.

26th min. ROSALES SCORED FOR AJAX! Van der Vaart made an excellent run in the left wig, he crossed the ball into the area where it was controlled by Anastasiou who laid it superbly to the free Rosales. The latter was totally unmarked and buried the ball into the bottom corner on the volley to give Ajax the deserved lead.

28th min. Freekick for Ajax. Anastasiou powered a header at goal but confident Babos managed to hold onto it.

29th min. Kalou got the ball behind Ajax's defense, he had all the time in the world but he tried to chip the keeper from outside the box, it didn't work and Ajax's keeper Vonk collected the ball easily.

31st min. De Jong (Ajax) and Gyan (Feyenoord) collided together and both went out to receive treatment.

32nd min. Castelen moved well in the left wing, he advanced with the ball into the area and tried to lay the ball low to an oncoming player but the defense made the interception.

34th min. Ajax made another tactical move due to the injury of De Jong, Heitinga came on to replace him.

35th min. Low cross from Anastasiou (Ajax) to Van der Vaart in the box, the ball came off the foot of Van der Vaart and was collected by Babos.

38th min. Freekick for Ajax. Van der Vaart sung it into the area and Babos collected it after a 2nd attempt.

40th min. Great composure by Hossam Ghaly, he intercepted a pass in midfield and sent the ball to Ono in the right wing, the latter crossed it high into the area but it was headed behind for a corner by Ajax's defense.

44th min. KUYT EQUALIZED FOR FEYENOORD! The ball dropped threateningly in Ajax's area, Kalou managed to lay it with his head to Kuyt at the edge of the box and the latter sent it home with a magical shot on the volley.

45th min. Corner kick for Ajax. The ball came off Karim Saidi, hit the foot of the post and bounced back to play to find Van der Vart who hit it low at goal but Babos managed to parry it away to prevent a real goal.
