Despite playing with 10 men starting from the 7th minute, Abdel Zaher El Saka's Gencler managed to win their first game under the management of Oguz Cetin. Egyptian defender El Saka scored first for Gencler 10 minutes after the kick off and Bolic doubled their lead in the 44th minute. In the 67th minute, Demiray clawed one back for Rize.


After Erdogan Arica resigned, former Fenerbahçe and national team player, and ex-Fenerbahçe and Kayserispor coach Oguz Cetin was appointed as the new coach of Gençlerbirligi. The team played one match under the management of caretaker coach Metin Diyadin against Konyaspor and lost 3-2 in the last 5 minutes, with El Saka scoring.

The Egyptians at Rizespor were both not included in the game, and so Beshir and Hosny had to watch their compatriot play without seeing action.

This weekend they played a home game against Caykur Rizespor and inspite of playing with 10 players for some 85 minutes they managed to win 2-1.

Youla hit his opponent with his elbow and was sent off in the minute 7. Only 3 minutes later El Saka scored an amazing goal. Boliç missed a penalty kick, but instead he scored another goal with his own effort.

Min. 7: Linesman warned the referee that Youla hit his opponent with his elbow and the referee sent him off.

Min. 10: SAKA SCORES his 2nd of the season! Gençlerbirligi won a corner kick. Filip passed the ball to Erkan. He crossed the ball into the penalty area. El Saka sent the ball into the net with a clean and strong shoot. It was the goal of the match and was amazing!

Min. 26: Bolic was passed from the midfield. He got the ball and ran to the right side of the pitch. Then he crossed the ball into the penalty area in front of Ugur, but Cem Baki fouled him. The referee gave a penalty kick. The shot of Bolic from the spot was too easy to save for the goalkeeper Zdravkov.

Min. 36: Mustafa Ozkan managed to get the ball in the midfield and passed it to Ugur. Mustafa ran into the penalty area and Ugur crossed the ball to him. But his shot went out.

Min. 42: Cem Baki got the returning ball just outside the penalty area. His shot returned off the post.

Min. 44: Ugur sent the ball to the area where Bolic was. Boliç got the ball despite the defenders of Rizespor. Although there were two defenders and the goalkeeper, he managed to shoot and score by his own effort. 2-0.

Min. 63: Mustafa got the ball outside the penalty area. His shot from some 20 metres was saved by the goalkeeper Zdravkov.

Min. 65: Okan got the on the penalty area line and sent the ball to the goal, but the ball went out.

Min. 67: Murat was passed to on the right side of the pitch. He crossed the ball to Zafer. His shot hit the defenders of Genclerbirligi and went into the net. 2-1.

Min. 70: Ugur crossed the ball into the penalty area. Mustafa got the ball, but his shot hit the defenders.

The match ended 2-1.
