El Saka, the captain of Genclerbirligi,
couldn't find a place after in the team after the hiring
of new manager Samet Aybaba in place of ex-manager Mesut
Bakkal. Samet Aybaba who is an ex-Besiktas defender
and the most unwanted-man for the Besiktas supporters
is a manager who is successfull but can't work for Besiktas
because of the supporters' dislike. Aybaba also took
a negative reaction from Genclerbirligi fans after his
racist statements about Abdelzaher El Saka.
El Saka was the captain and main source of expereince
in the team. He is surely not as good as he was in the
past; he may be slower but his being placed on the substitutes
bench is not because of this.
EgyptianPlayers.com can confirm that Aybaba saw that
El Saka has a very high role in the team and can talk
with the players about how to play on the pitch. El
Saka's training, inside match tactics and dressing room
talks made Aybaba unhappy, and he decided to send him
from the team to increase his managerial power in the
situation.
Aybaba thought that El Saka manages the team through
his good relatinship with the team, and wanted to be
"the only man" who can teach football and
tactics to the team. This resulted in a substitute place
on the bench and banning from training days, which came
step by step for the Egyptian in order to lure him out.
El Saka is on his way to leaving the club for this problem
and he is linked with some clubs, as EP reported. Despite
the protests of the fans against the coach, it is not
expected that the board will fire Aybaba from the team,
because the chairman sacked the previous one because
of a bad run and a second change may be too much for
the club in a single season.
It is not certain that El Saka will join the mid-season
camp of the team. Genclerbirligi will face Feyenoord,
Charleroi and Nürnberg in friendlies in the new
season training camp.
