Abdel Zaher El Saka and his teammates at Gencler made
a great achievement as they managed to qualify to Turkish
Cup final after a 1-1 away draw with Galatasaray in
the 2nd leg. The first leg match ended in a 1-0 win
for Gencler and so, they reached the final with a 2-1
aggregate win.
Egyptian veteran defender and Genclerbirligi
captain will have a great chance to win a trophy this
season as he led his side to a great 2-1 aggregate win
over the giants Galatasaray in cup.
The first leg match at Gencler homeground
ended in a 1-0 win and in the 2nd leg, El Saka assisted
a goal to give his side a precious lead in the 2nd half.
Near the end, Gala managed to score the equalizer but
they needed to score two more goals in order to overcome
Gencler and the game ended in a 1-1 draw which is enough
for Gencler to reach the final.
El Saka played an excellent match at heart
of Gencler defense, the Egyptian kept the danger of
Galatasaray forwards at bay and the first half ended
in 0-0 score.
El Saka and his teammates continued to
defend their lead in the first leg match till the 76th
minute where they won a corner kick. The cross was made
high into the far post to find El Saka who headed it
back in front of goal to find Uzümcü who fired
it home to give Gencler a 1-0 lead.
Gencler continued to defend their lead
and almost won the game but a last minute goal by Umit
Karan made the score 1-1 in the end.
With this great victory, El Saka team will play against
Kayserispor or Rizespor who will play tonight in the other
semifinal match.
It should be noted that El Saka never
won a trophy in Turkey so far and this cup final will
surely be his chance to lift the cup for first time.
It is also worth nothing that El Saka
reached the Turkish cup final with Gencler before when
he and Ahmed Hassan led their side to a 4-2 win over
Besiktas at that time. However, Gencler faced Fenerbahce
in the final and the game ended in a 4-0 loss.
