Tayfun's double for Konya meant that Rize
were put into the relegation zone, while Konyaspor went
on in their UEFA chase and are now just three points
behind 2nd placed Galatasaray.
Tayfun scored after 24 minutes after a fine pass from
the on-form Da Silva. Konya could have added to their
lead before the interval but didn't. There was a big
chance when El Saka played a long ball which led to
Tayfun testing the keeper, who made a save.
At the start of the second half, a good move at the
front gave Tayfun another chance in front of goal, which
he finished, making it a comfortable 2-0 score-line.
Rize didn't trouble their hosts, and Ahmed Belal was
tried out in the middle of the park for parts of the
match.
Rizespor play home to Sakryaspor in a few days, and
with both teams near the bottom on just 15 points, it
will be a very important game. Konya now have two wins
in a row and must continue their good form. EP will
