Abdelzaher El Saka did his compatriot Ayman Abdelaziz
as well as his former team-mates a big favour as he
scored a blaster in his own goal. Genclerbirligi came
out on top by three goals and sent a message to El Saka
as well as his team-mate at both clubs Umit Bozkurt,
who was captain at Gencler.

Abdelzaher El Saka played his first game
since returning to Konyaspor after the African Cup of
Nations, in which he played more minutes than anyone
in the whole tournament. He was treated to a party by
the club, but on his unlucky match-day he could not
repay them. After the game he was reported by media
as very sad. The defender was substituted off at half
time.
Meanwhile Ayman Abdelaziz played a full game in the
defensive midfield of the visitors, and didn't make
any slip-ups.

Konyaspor had two penalty appeals waved away inside
the opening 10 minutes, one of which was a clear penalty,
but both merited yellow cards for diving.
In the 11th minute, a low ball was played into the box
from the right-hand side, and El Saka tracked it back
well inside the box, sticking to his marker. He reached
the ball first but when trying to clear it anywhere
from 8 yards out, hit it with an attacker's technique,
very powerfully on the half-volley, into the back of
his own net.

Konyaspor responded with much pressure, but Gencler
keeper Gokhan was able to stop the danger. Tayfun thought
he had gotten the equaliser when a corner was played
in, but his header hit the cross-bar, after El Saka
had made space for his team-mate by dragging a defender
with him only to end up on the ground.
The attacks continued, and on the left wing a Konya
midfielder was able to go round the outside of Ayman
Abdelaziz before turning into the centre again and finding
a square pass. The shot that followed was saved.
Still, less than 15 minutes had passed since the own
goal and El Saka wanted to make amends. When a corner
was delivered towards the Egyptian defender he rose
well but could only head off target.
The second period saw Gencler attack from the start
and promising Nigerian Isaac Promise managed to take
the ball on the right after Konya's defence - which
was weakened after the manager decided to rest El Saka
in the second half - had fallen asleep. He ran comfortably
into the box before finishing past the keeper with his
left foot.
Tayfun continued to go forward but was obstructed in
the box, resulting in another penalty shout, but for
the third time the referee disagreed.
Even more annoying was that the referee whistled for
a penalty at the other end, when Omer Gundotsu put Mehmet
Cakir down in the area, and the score became 3-0 from
the penalty spot.
Konyaspor came close twice in the final minutes but
they, like El Saka, had no luck on the day...
