After the transfer news of Abdelzaher El Saka, Konyaspor is the first team to make an official statement about their interest in the defender. EP had stated that Konya, Trabzon, Kayserispor and Vestel Manisa were behind him.

Konya's spokesman Bahattin Karapinar announced that they hired Aykut Kocaman as their new manager in the place of Saffet Susic who left the team. Karapinar said, "Inshallah, we'll sign Kocaman today and we'll have a meeting about the transfer strategy. We want to enter to the new season stronger than in the past.

"We are interested in El Saka. He proved himself at Genclerbirligi and we know his football," he added.

"His transfer can only be certain if our manager confirms it. We'll propose it to Aykut Kocaman and can sign El Saka after that."

Genclerbirligi President Ilhan Cavcav also held a press conference and said that the club will leave the road open for some star players.

Cavcav said that they will not offer big salaries to the players and will create a young and challenging team with new players.

El Saka, Mustafa Ozkan, Ali Tandogan and Umit Bozkurt are expected to leave Gencler along with the striker Souleymane Youla.
