Genclerbirligi beat Konyaspor 2-1 in a tough encounter.

Both Egyptians started, with Abdelzaher El Saka in the centre of the defence and Ayman Abdelaziz in the centre of the midfield.

Visitors Konyaspor were first to trouble, with Alran striking a decent free-kick which goalkeeper Omer managed to dive and save. The side also had a second chance after a shot from the edge of the area, but it went just wide.

Ayman Abdelaziz settled into the game and provided good passes for Youla, but it was only in the 32nd minute that the Guinean scored. Youla, who scored twice at Fenerbahce, used his brilliant pace and power top get away from the back-line and past the goalkeeper, before tapping into the net.

Konyaspor equalised right at the beginning of the second half. A cross by Eyup was laid back by Tayfun for Levent, who hit the ball on the half-volley with wonderful technique, off the post and in.

Kona tried to get another as a pass was played just past El Saka, and a shot taken which beat Omer but went off target.

When it looked as though the game was going to end as a draw, Genclerbirligi were awarded a stoppage time penalty. The effective substitute Ali Tandogan crossed in for Youla, who was pushed as he was heading the ball. A penalty was issued, and Youla hit it into the goal.

El Saka had informed EgyptianPlayers.com that British scouts would be watching him in this game, mainly from Glasgow Rangers. The defender was fine during the game, and it is possible that he will be watched in the coming matches, for both Gencler and if he features against Libya for the national team.
