Gencler took the shock lead against Fenerbahce, which
dumbfounded the home crowd. Mustafa was fouled on the
right wing by the corner flag, and Skoko hit the dangerous
free-kick into the box. It was hit low, and Youla followed
it on with his right foot, and into the side of the
net. A lead inside the opening 20 minutes for Gencler!
Ayman (top left) and Saka (top right)
celebrate the goal...
Not long later, Mehmet Yozgati ran into the box from
the right, but was tackled precisely by El Saka. The
referee whistled however, and pointed to the spot! After
arguments from the Gencler players, Alex stepped up
and coolly slotted the penalty into the net.
El Saka clearly took the ball!

Ayman argues...

El Saka points in the air at the referee:
"God is witness".
With seconds of the half left, it was
Ayman's turn! Aurelio tried to keep the ball in on the
right by-line, with Ayman chasing him. The Egyptian
midfielder got a touch onto the ball to El Saka, who
cleared. After this however, he lost him balance and
fell, pushing Aurelio onto the ground with him. The
referee somewhat surprisingly gave yet another spot
kick! This time Omer dived right but Alex's penalty
was too good to be stopped.

Ayman cleared the ball, then took Aurelio
down
With this stoppage time goal, Fener entered
leading at half time- thanks to two penalties given
against the two Egyptians!
Less than 10 minutes after the interval, Alkaralar managed
to equalise. Ex-Gencler player Deniz Baris passed poorly
in his half, to Mustafa Ozkan. The midfielder ran forward
and passed through to Youla, who finished wonderfully
past the goalie. Gencler level again with this goal.
Saka (number 5) and Ayman (number 12)
celebrate the equaliser...
In the 79th minute, the game got even more out of control,
and another ex-Gencler man was in trouble. Serkan was
sent off after a fight broke out between the both sets
of players.
Despite having one man less, Fener had one star in Alex.
In the 88th minute, Alex turned and outpaced Ayman in
the middle of the park, before twisting and turning
past a number of opposing defenders. At the edge of
the box, the ball fell to van Hooijdonk who cleverly
back-heeled to Alex, and the Brazilian hit the ball
perfectly off one post and into the opposing side of
the net!
A very unlucky loss for Gencler, with both Egyptians
doing well in the game bar a few moments.
