Sherif Ekramy explained his injury to EgyptianPlayers.com
as follows: "It started when I felt clicking just
under my knee. Then on Friday it happened to me again
but I knew I was going to play. They told me it hasn't
swollen so it would be no problem. I started to feel
it in the match but I played."
"After the match the pain was still there, and
yesterday (Wednesday) it happened a third time and it
swelled a lot."
"After the check-up, thanks to God, the ligaments
are fine. But the outer surface of the kneecap has a
swelling."
Ekramy admits his season is over but looks on to next
season. "It should take between two and three weeks
but for the season is as good as over.
"I don't think it'll affect next season, as either
way, I want to play and do well."
Answering whether he has been injured too many times for a
keeper this season, the Feyenoord stopper said: "It's
not true. In my whole life and career I've only had one injury,
six years ago, and apart from that any injuries have been
soft. Yes, maybe I've had bad luck this season but inshallah
everything will get better."
EP wish Sherif a speedy recovery and to make his mark on European
football next season...
