Reports:
Ekramy To Leave As Timmer Renews Contract
Date: 15-12-2007 Wrote: EP's webmaster
Several Dutch news sources evealed today that the main
keeper of Feyenoord Henk Timmer is goining to extend
his contract for two more years. This means that Ekramy
will likely move away from Rotterdam either permanently
or on loan in order to play regularly.
Egyptian goalie Sherif Ekramy is still
waiting for a chance to be Feyernoord's main goalkeeper.
The Egyptian was close to get this chance at start of
this season but the new manager Van Marwijk decided
that experienced goalkeeper Henk Timmer will be the
main keeper for the time being.
Timmer was expected to retire at end of
this season which will give Sherif the chance to play
regularly with Feyenoord. However, some recent reports
suggested that Timmer is going to extend his contract
with Feyenoord for two more years.
Ekramy's situation is not clear now. Will
he remain at Feyenoord in a hope he can get his chance
or will he move away fro the club to join another side
where he can plays regularly?
Reports suggest that the renewal of Timmer's contract
will mean one thing, that Ekramy's days at Feyenoord are counted
and he could leave the club either on loan or permanetly.
EP will contact the player to know his latest
in the nearest future. The Egyptian goalie already gave away
a detailed interview with Egyptianplayers.com a couple of
weeks ago and EP visitors can read the
full interview here.
