"I've just signed for Lokomotiv Moscow around
an hour ago," were Amr's first words to EgyptianPlayers.com.
We asked a few more questions.
EP: What are the details of the deal?
Zaki: "The club is paying €1.7 million
to ENPPI, and I am getting €500,000 a year, for
three years."
EP: When did they talk to you?
Zaki: "Straight after the [ACN] tournament.
And also throughout the tournament, although then there
were plenty of people talking. They (Lokomotiv) sent
representatives to ENPPI club, and that was it. This
was the very serious offer that I got."

EP: Did you have any other offers?
Zaki: "There were some, from Newcastle United,
Bolton Wanderers and also Dinamo Kiev."
EP: So why did you decide against England?
Zaki: "I didn't decide against anything. There
is a lot of talk. The league in Russia starts in March, so
I can go there now, instead of in August had I signed elsewhere."
EP: You'll go straight away then?
Zaki: "Yes immediately, and I will be playing
my first game there on the 18th of March."
EP: Do you see this as the first step for you in Europe, after
which you can move on?
Zaki: "Inshallah (God willing). I have a feeling
that I will go to the English Premier League inshallah. One
must take things step by step. And I'll also be playing in
the Champions League remember, and this is a big step for
me in itself. Also, they are holding onto me tight, and have
even put a minimum release clause of €10 million in order
for me to leave. So it's clear they're serious because look
how much they paid for me, plus how much the release clause
is.
"They did tell me that we know you are going to leave
in a year's time inshallah, to a better and bigger club. And
I myself have my eyes put on the English Premier League."
