Both Egypt and Ahly internationals Emad Moteb and Mohamed Shawky will travel to England next week to undergo a trial at Mido's new side, Middlesboro.

Ahly officials are willing to let both players go and Moteb's fee is almost agreed at 1.5m pounds. On the other side, Ahly are trying to get a better offer for the defensive midfielder Shawky.

Al Ahly sporting director Hossam El Badry revealed to the British paper "The Sun" that both players received alot of interest from European clubs but Boro's offer was the best.

The two players will be with Middlesbrough next week for observation after we reached a deal with the English side," El Badary said in The Sun.

"We have received several bids for these two players, in particular from European clubs, but Middlesbrough's offer was the most lucrative.

"We have had a long and tortuous negotiation before we agreed to release them because we don't want them to go through any exhaustive trials as they are world-class players.

"If they players are successful in the observation and medicals we should close the deal before the close of the transfer window."

The signing of Moteb could trigger the departure of Nigerian striker Yakubu who is receiving interest from Everton.
